




A new Museum in Broughshane required two touchscreen systems to augment the exhibits. The first touchscreen was to be a gallery of historical videos of the local area. The second screen was be a gallery system with hundreds of images from an autograph collection and an archive of old school photographs
Local AV contractor Absolute Technologies was in charge of supplying the hardware, and commissioned SilicaBox to design, build and implement the software side of things.
Rather than using an expensive off-the-shelf software solution, we created a system built mostly on open source web technologies. This includes: HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, PHP and Web Fonts. The system runs in a web browser (Google Chrome) in kiosk mode off a local server (WAMP).
